GiGi U : confident u – healthy u – whole u

Last week saw the graduation of the 3rd class of GiGi University. Congratulations Class Summer 2014!

These students spent the last 10 weeks learning the pillars of GiGi U’s: HEALTHY U, CONFIDENT U & WHOLE U.

The GiGi U graduates are proud of who they are, learned the importance of self-care & nutrition, became self-advocates and learned important career skills. On behalf of the graduating class, here’s Aubrey’s thoughts on what they’ve achieved.

They now move onto their internship program at our Hugs + Mugs Career Center and Internship Program, where the learning does not stop. At Hugs + Mugs. Different from conventional “vocational” programs, Hugs + Mugs focuses heavily on individuals’ self-confidence, innate creativity, vivid personalities, and unique interests. Hugs + Mugs elevates the visibility of the adults themselves by way of the store front and design studio, and by showcasing their personal artwork. Hugs + Mugs expects adults to maintain their GiGi University commitment to fitness and nutrition.

The goal at the end of the internship will be on creating opportunities for rewarding volunteer and employment in the community to give them the needed skills to be part of our work force.

GiGi U is now accepting applications for our Fall 2014 class, starting mid September.
