This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for gigisplayhouse.org (the “Site”), operated by GiGi’s Playhouse, Inc. This notice applies solely to information collected through the Site. It explains:

  • What personal information is collected from you, both information you provide directly and information collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, how it is used, and with whom it may be shared.
  • What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.
  • The security procedures in place to protect your information.
  • How you can access, correct, or request deletion of your information, including specific rights available to California residents.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

We are the sole owners of the information you voluntarily provide to us through forms, email, or other direct contact on the Site — for example, your name and email address when you sign up for our newsletter or contact us. We do not sell or rent this information to anyone.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, the Site also uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to automatically collect certain information when you visit, including your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time spent on pages, referring website, and general interaction with the Site (such as clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement). This information is collected through the third-party tools described in Section 4 below.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and fulfill requests you make through the Site;
  • Send you communications about our programs, events, fundraising, and updates to this policy, unless you ask us not to;
  • Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve content, navigation, and the overall experience; and
  • Measure the performance of our outreach and advertising, including our Google Ad Grants nonprofit advertising program.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes. We do use a small number of third-party service providers to operate, analyze, and promote the Site, and limited information about your visit may be shared with these providers as described in Section 4 below. These providers process this information on our behalf, and in some cases (such as advertising platforms) may also use it consistent with their own privacy policies — for example, to measure ad performance or build advertising audiences. We otherwise share your information only as necessary to fulfill a request you’ve made, or as required by law.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site currently uses the following third-party tools, which may place cookies or use similar tracking technologies on your device:

Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Ads / Ad Grants

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. We also participate in the Google Ad Grants program for nonprofits, which uses conversion tracking to measure the performance of our ads. Data collected may be shared with Google and, depending on Google account settings, may be used to inform advertising shown to you on other sites. Learn more at

Meta Pixel

We use the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our Facebook and Instagram outreach and to help us reach people interested in GiGi’s Playhouse on Meta platforms. Information collected may be shared with Meta and used consistent with Meta’s privacy policy. Learn more at

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Doing so may affect how the Site functions. Most browsers also let you send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal; we are working to implement automated consent and opt-out tools on the Site and will update this notice when that tool is live.

5. Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of future email communications from us at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us using the information in Section 10. At any time, you can also contact us to:

  • See what data we have about you, if any;
  • Change or correct any data we have about you;
  • Request that we delete any data we have about you; or
  • Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

6. California Privacy Rights

GiGi’s Playhouse has physical locations in California, and we want California visitors to have clear, meaningful privacy choices regardless of legal threshold questions. Whether or not GiGi’s Playhouse is formally a “covered business” under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), we extend the following rights to all California residents who interact with the Site:

  • Right to Know: You may request the categories of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, and the categories of third parties with whom it has been shared.
  • Right to Delete: You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Correct: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sharing: You may request that we limit sharing of your information with third-party advertising tools described in Section 4 (currently Google Ads/Ad Grants and Meta Pixel) for behavioral advertising purposes.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 10. We do not currently have an automated Global Privacy Control (GPC) recognition tool live on the Site; we are implementing one and will update this notice once it is active. Until then, we will honor opt-out requests submitted directly to us.

7. Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the Site, that information is protected both online and offline. Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as payment data), it is encrypted and transmitted securely. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon and “https” at the beginning of the Site’s address. We also protect your information offline: only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information, and the systems where we store such information are kept in a secure environment. If you feel we are not abiding by this privacy notice, please contact us immediately using the information in Section 10.

8. SMS / Text Messaging

Mobile Privacy Policy: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

By providing your phone number to GiGi’s Playhouse, you agree and acknowledge that GiGi’s Playhouse may send text messages to your wireless phone number for any purpose. Message and data rates may apply. We will only send one SMS as a reply to you, and you will be able to opt out by replying “STOP.”

GiGi’s Playhouse Inc. Text Messaging Terms of Use

By opting in to or using a Text Message Service from GiGi’s Playhouse, you accept these terms. This agreement is between you and GiGi’s Playhouse Inc. or one of its affiliates. All references to “GiGi’s Playhouse,” “we,” “our,” or “us” refer to GiGi’s Playhouse Inc., 2350 W. Higgins Rd., Hoffman Estates, IL 60169.

Definitions

“Opting In,” “Opt In,” and “Opt-In” refer to requesting, joining, agreeing to, enrolling in, signing up for, acknowledging, responding to, or otherwise consenting to receive one or more text messages. “Text Message Service” includes any arrangement in which we send one or more messages addressed to your mobile phone number, including text messages (SMS, MMS, or successor protocols).

Consenting to Text Messaging

By consenting to receive text messages from us, you agree to these terms as well as our general Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice, incorporated here by reference. You also consent to the use of an electronic record to document your agreement. You may withdraw your consent to the use of the electronic record by replying STOP.

Text Message Service Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. We only use information you provide through this service to transmit your mobile messages and respond to you, including sharing information with platform providers, phone companies, and other vendors who assist in delivering mobile messages. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We reserve the right to disclose information as necessary to satisfy any law, regulation, or governmental request, to avoid liability, or to protect our rights or property. This policy applies to your use of the Text Message Service and does not modify our general Privacy Notice above, which governs the relationship between you and us in other contexts.

Costs of Text Messages

We do not charge you for messages sent or received via this service, but message and data rates may apply depending on your wireless plan.

Frequency of Text Messages

This service is for conversational person-to-person communication between you and our employees. We may send an initial message describing the service; after that, message frequency depends on how you use the service.

Opting Out of Text Messages

If you no longer want to receive text messages, reply STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE to any message. Opt-out requests are specific to each conversation between you and the associated employee phone number. After unsubscribing, we may send confirmation via text message.

Call to Action and Opt-In Method

GiGi’s Playhouse collects opt-in verbally at our locations or over the phone. Individuals provide their phone number and are informed that by doing so, they consent to receive messages, program reminders, volunteer shift reminders, and similar communications from GiGi’s Playhouse Inc. Message and data rates may apply, message frequency varies, and recipients can text HELP for support or STOP to unsubscribe. Phone numbers are not shared with third parties.

9. Changes to This Notice

We may update this privacy notice from time to time, including as we add or change the tools and services described above. We will post the revised notice on this page with an updated effective date.
