STEM Lab
STEM Lab is an engaging and dynamic group program that nurtures essential developmental skills through hands-on exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. This program fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving while developing cognitive skills and building confidence. STEM Lab empowers individuals with Down syndrome to explore STEM concepts in a fun, supportive, and interactive environment through experiments, creative challenges, and innovative problem-solving tasks.

- STEM Lab Kids, recommended for ages 8-12 years old
- STEM Lab Teen, recommended for ages 13-17 years old
- STEM Lab Adult, recommended for ages 18+ years old
The Goals for GiGi’s STEM Lab programs
- Increase cognitive development with a focus on active participation in activities that promote logical reasoning, planning, and decision-making while exploring STEM concepts.
- Increase communication and language skills by encouraging participants to describe observations, explain reasoning, and engage in discussions about problem-solving and discovery.
- Increase sensory development by actively engaging multiple senses through hands-on experiments, tactile materials, and interactive STEM experiences.
- Foster a deeper understanding of STEM concepts through inquiry-based learning and real-world applications. By encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and critical thinking, participants learn to recognize patterns, test solutions, and understand cause and effect.
