This baseball season, something extraordinary is happening both on and off the field. GiGi’s Playhouse, in partnership with Texas Rangers third baseman Jake Burger, the Burger Family Foundation, and a lineup of Major League Baseball’s most compassionate players, is launching a nationwide tour to promote awareness, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome.
Together, we’re bringing the heart of baseball to the heart of our communities—and building a world that embraces the Down syndrome community through every hug, high five, and home run.
13 Cities. One Mission. Limitless Impact.
From coast to coast, MLB players will be visiting 13 GiGi’s Playhouse locations to meet families, join programs, and help shine a spotlight on the incredible talents and stories of individuals with Down syndrome. These special visits are more than appearances—they're moments of connection, education, and celebration.
Meet the Game Changer: Jake Burger
Jake Burger isn’t just a rising star with the Texas Rangers—he’s a proud father to Penelope, born with Down syndrome, and a fierce advocate for inclusion. In a powerful tribute, Jake now wears jersey number 21, symbolizing the uniqueness of the 21st chromosome that defines Down syndrome. Through the Burger Family Foundation, Jake and his wife, Ashlyn, are leading this tour to champion the voices of families like theirs—and ensure every child with Down syndrome is celebrated for who they are.
