GiGi’s Playhouse National Conference

Some of the GiGi’s Twin Cities-Playhouse team were able to attend the GiGi’s Playhouse National Conference the first week of November in Schamburg, IL. Those who were able to attend were Deb Corhouse (Board VP), Rhea Lewis (SLP for Social Skills and EPIC), Katherine Rebstock (Program Director) and John Ward (Operations Director). It was a great conference and we all were able to take back valuable learnings from all of the trainings!

With Katherine and John being new, they went early to the conference on Wednesday November 3 to get new employee specific training. There we were able to learn more about the GiGi’s Playhouse as a national organization, see the Hoffman Estates Playhouse (the National HQ), and connect with other new employees from across the country. There was so much packed into that day and the other three days of the conference. But it was a great way to get to learn more about how we can leverage the many tools and resources of the GiGi’s Playhouse national team and integrate it into the Twin Cities Playhouse.

We also wanted to highlight that Rhea presented a session on Friday, November 5. She was asked by our national organization to present on incorporating social skills into already existing problems. She presented and reviewed on how to integrate games and interactive exercises into programs to make them that much more valuable. Katherine and Deb (and Deb’s daughter Sophia!) were able to attend the session. Of course, Rhea knocked it out of the park!

We look forward to seeing you in the Playhouse soon!
