321 Days of Acceptance | Week 7

Welcome to the week seven recap of 321 Days of Acceptance from Generation G!

Generation G is a conscious decision to be better every day. Acceptance is a fundamental dignity for all people, regardless of ability. Acceptance is more than an act of charity, it is truly generosity “in action”.

acceptance is the very heart and the very best of humanity. without daily actions to create lasting acceptance, opportunities for present and future generations will falter.

In sharing a story and image each day it is our hope to flood social media with the truth about how normal down syndrome is and how extraordinary people with down syndrome are!  you are helping the mission of generation g & acceptance by simply sharing these posts (found each morning on our facebook page) with your friends on social media! thank you. we are stronger together.

Here is who inspired us and made us smile in week 7……

Everyone at GiGi’s is a hero. We show that everyday is a day to improve. Everyday I learn more math, more words, and make new friends. Everyday I believe in myself and the people around me. There’s nothing I can’t do.” Joey

“The night Cristian was born when I was told he had Down syndrome I cried. I wasn’t crying because of his diagnosis. I cried because of the unknown. I cried because of fear. I cried because I didn’t want society to judge my beautiful boy before they gave him a chance. Would he make friends? Would he be able to stand on his own? Fast forward thirteen years and I am currently sitting across from him and tears are flowing. I have a well rounded teenager who is respectful, poised, determined, athletic, charming, ambitious and a true gentleman. He inspires me every day. He is a teacher of life and doesn’t even know it.” ~ Vivian (aka Cristian’s mom)

GiGi's Playhouse Day 48, Harrison can be found enjoying Open Play & LMNOP at GiGi’s Playhouse Hoffman Estates. Harrison is a real charmer and everyone he meets is soon under his sweet little spell. “Differences are never weaknesses. It is these amazing gifts that make us unique. With these we can only become stronger. Harrison isn’t different he is strength, love and awesomeness all wrapped up in a tiny sack of sugar! He will change many lives for the better but together we will change the world.” Harrison’s mom, Megan
