Lucky to be part of a family tradition…

Last week Hugs + Mugs was fortunate enough to be part of a young girls annual Birthday tradition.   The young girls name is Olivia. Olivia’s birthday is in January, every year she and her grandma plan an entire day to themselves. They could schedule their day closer to her actual birthday but January is COLD, so they opt for a summer celebration. This gives Olivia plenty of time to plan the perfect day.   Olivia told me she came across Hugs + Mugs on the Internet and she thought making a custom water bottle sounded like fun, so Hugs + Mugs was added to her list of things to do with Grandma.

Olivia

Olivia and Grandma traveled over 25 miles to get to the café, did I mention they have their own driver? Grandpa.  When they arrived, our interns were busy getting the store ready for a big party that evening, but they stopped what they were doing to help Olivia. Brian, Nicole, Marc and Patrick talked Olivia through process of making a water bottle.   They explained the size of the design and which colors work best. They showed her photos of mugs that had been made in the past for inspiration. Olivia joined us in the workroom to watch how the water bottles and mugs were made. What started out as a birthday water bottle for herself, soon turned into making 3 additional mugs as gifts for other family members.   Her favorite mug was the design she had put aside because she didn’t think it was good enough, how funny.

Family traditions create good feelings and special moments to remember.. These are the memories that will last a lifetime. Hugs + Mugs is happy to have become a lifelong memory for Olivia and her family. We hope we lived up to your expectations – Happy Birthday Olivia – Thank You for making Hugs + Mugs part of you celebration.
