Heroes BELIEVE: Kristen and Katelynn!

There are heroes among us every day. Children, adults, parents, siblings, volunteers, donors, and more. Here is one of their stories from the 2016 GiGi’s Playhouse Calendar shoot:

Katelyn 009

I believe that heroes don’t always have capes or shiny armors; heroes are made by the paths they choose, not the powers they are graced with. I am always proud of the path that Katelynn chooses; it’s one of pride, courage, bravery and a relentless will to resist limitations. She has taught us that heroes are not the ones that never fail, but the special ones that get up again and again, never losing sight of their dreams.

Katelynn is our hero; she is a special girl that finds the strength to persevere and endure despite overwhelming obstacles. Her dare to dream, her will to succeed, her fight to the finish line in all she does makes us believe heroes don’t have capes or armors but a heart filled with love, a mind that challenges that status quo and an attitude that separates the dreamers and the achievers from the nonbelievers. Her unwavering commitment to be a continuous learner can save any day, any time, anywhere.

Katelynn’s Message would be : Excellence is not a skill, it’s an attitude. Choose Wisely…

Love, Chris, Kristin, Katelynn and Kendall Malek
