Learning acceptance in 24 hours!

This week, we learned of a ride company’s incredibly offensive and ignorant slogan. After multiple failed requests to remove the slogan, our Chief Belief Officer, Nancy Gianni, took to social media and you all showed up! In 24 hours we successfully shut this down despite repeated resistance and denials from both the business and Facebook, who did not see it as being offensive or breaking Facebook community standards! We have more work to do but we are not backing down until we reach our mission of acceptance for all! In the end, they came back with an apology and actually asked for ways to do better. It was a learning moment for all!

With school starting and Down Syndrome Acceptance Month just around the corner, it is such an exciting time to spread our message of acceptance. We are building our #GenerationG community through our iacceptyou.org site with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives for schools, corporations, and the community!

Our FREE GiGiFIT programs combine physical therapy with a strong fitness focus and an ultimate goal of success and improved movement. This program is offered for every age group from infants through adults with specific programs that cater to each age group. GiGiFIT addresses the needs of individuals with Down syndrome by addressing hypotonia, joint laxity, and the vestibular system.Playhouses around the network continue to see the impact of this incredible program. Fall Session enrollment is now open in local Playhouses and virtually through GiGi’s At Home.

These resources were designed to help make this year successful for our kids, their teachers, and the school administrators who will be supporting them!
