GiGi’s Participant Makes History at Buffalo Music Hall of Fame
GiGi’s Playhouse Inc. is thrilled to share that one of our participants will be inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame (BMHOF)! Next month, Sujeet Desai from the Buffalo Playhouse will make history as the first individual with an intellectual disability in the BMHOF.
This is not his first time in the spotlight. Back in 2015, Sujeet made another monumental step when he was the first individual with Down syndrome to perform at Carnegie Hall! Here is a note from Sujeet on what this accomplishment means to him.
Dear Friends,
I like to share good news in the above video link that I thought you would be glad to hear as you are an advocate for disability.
I will be inducted into the Buffalo MUSIC Hall of Fame (BMHOF) class of 2022 on October 12th, 2022. It was an honor to be inducted with 13 other very talented, accomplished musicians into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. This is a very prestigious organization in Buffalo, NY. celebrating its 40th anniversary I am especially humbled as I am the first inductee to be into BMHOF with Intellectual Challenges in its 40 years of history.
I think this is a wonderful Community INCLUSION/ACCEPTANCE example.
I hope my advocates, especially parents of differently challenged individuals, would motivate and share this with their community to encourage Inclusion.
The Induction ceremony is scheduled on Oct 12th & 13th . For more updates & details, please visit web page for www.buffalomusichalloffame.org
I am sending in attachment the BMHOF Letter of my Induction and a couple pictures of the press conference when the inductees were announced.
Thank you again for your advocacy.
Musically
Sujeet Desai

My son is currently only 3.5yrs old but, so curious and smart. We are moving to the Daytona Beach area soon and I saw that there wasn’t a GiGi’s close by. I was hoping you could tell me how I may go about getting one started there. I no longer work because I have MS, but earlier in my life (about 10years ago, I am 43 now) I was an elementary education teacher. Children have always been at the heart of what I wanted to do with my life, now thanks to my beautiful little boy it has been narrowed down to Children with DS and other disabilities.
Hi Johanna, please keep an eye on your email inbox. Someone from our organization will reach out to you. Thank you for your interest is spreading the GiGi’s mission.
