A Holiday Message from Nancy and GiGi

As GiGi and I finished our last road trip for 2021 I hit the Home button on my GPS and it said 3 hr 21 min! What? 321; the Down syndrome numbers! I was instantly filled with gratitude and awe. I knew it was God talking to me again, telling me “I know you are tired, but I got you.” Then the miracles continued to happen the whole ride home. With GiGi by my side there is nothing I can’t or won’t do.

GiGi and I have logged thousands of miles this year and millions across our lifetime. She has literally been on the road with me since she was a baby, spreading our mission of acceptance. We hit the road for openings, events and injustices that happen to our participants. It truly is a gift to visit the different GiGi’s communities and see the groundbreaking work these volunteers are doing worldwide!

Thank you for recognizing the gifts that GiGi and all of her friends bring to this world. We are dedicated to our mission of global acceptance and offering free programs to our families; and we could not do this without you!Please look at our Annual Report to see how, through innovation, we were able to not only grow this year but serve more families, in more places, than ever before. It truly is extraordinary. Be proud! You helped us do this!

Watch 45 years of Jon’s life flash by over the course of 5 minutes, by watching video above! Please share this video with family and friends so everyone can see this amazing story. Stories like Freebird are what will help in showing the world the potential of all individuals with Down syndrome!!

Our friends Nick Herd and Michael McDonald, created Freebird, an incredibly powerful animated short film, showing the life story of Jon, an individual with Down syndrome who learns to navigate the world with a loving mother, absent father, classroom bullies, and a lifelong crush. This story perfectly shows how anyone, regardless of a diagnosis, can achieve their dreams when given a little love and support.

Down syndrome has a chance to be represented at the Academy Awards and we need your help to make it happen!!
