An Unexpected Blessing: Jaida’s Amazing Journey

Jaida 133
Jaida is a blessing we never saw coming and we are so grateful for. As a daycare owner and parents of a 20+ year old, my husband and I knew we were done having children. Or so we thought. One day, this beautiful child was brought to our in-home daycare and after a couple of weeks of enrollment, was left! What was supposed to be a temporary home situation became a permanent situation. How could a mom not call, check on or visit their child? This was unimaginable and unacceptable to us and we knew without hesitation that we would not turn our backs on this child.

My husband, daughter and I loved Jaida upon first sight and immediately began studying up on Down syndrome, signing Jaida up for therapy visits and other social activities. We also began working with her one on one to help her adapt to her new home and a totally new lifestyle. What a joy this was…and a challenge. We were already parents to a special needs child but knew that not only did Jaida need us, we needed her!

Tantrums, crying, feelings of insecurity, and a major need for love were apparent in Jaida. There was much to learn and grow accustomed to! But we did, because we loved her so much.

She has taught my family loads of patience and has given us a while new spectrum to study when it comes to Down Syndrome Awareness. We happily share our story and accomplishments with other people and we really love being a part of GiGi’s Playhouse! This gives all of us an opportunity to meet with other parents and family members whom can relate to what we go through on a daily basis. What a blessing the playhouse has been!

Jaida has changed our lives in ways we could not have imagined and made us really appreciate what we have even more. What a blessing it was for God to pick us to be Jaida’s parents and what a blessing Jaida is to be a part of our lives.

I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful, brilliant, precious and friendly princess last weekend at Gigi’s house. As I was volunteering and sitting it a little room handing out race packets this angel walked in climbed on my lap and grabbed my phone. Within seconds she found a folder, that I had hidden, filled with games. She was so happy and content to be sitting there with my daughter and myself playing Sponge Bob. She definitely is a beautiful gift from God. I hope to see her again! May God bless you, your family and Gigi’s house.

Since you have had Jaida I have seen her blossom. With your family she will go in this world. You and your family are totally awesome.

I’ve heard this story from the since its inception, being a co worker of Chuck Robinson. I am so happy for both Jaida and the Robinson family for the way it has turned out for all of them. Seems to be this has happened for a reason. Knowing Chuck for the last 7 years or so, I know of the love he has for his wife and daughter, Ebony, this blessed and gifted child named Jaida, will have that same love and affection from Chuck and the rest of the Robinson family.
