GiGi’s Playhouse Attends National Down Syndrome Congress in Pittsburgh

We are incredibly thankful and proud to have been a part of NDSC 2019 in Pittsburg. GiGi’s Playhouse is a strong voice in the greater Down syndrome community — our count shows that 43 of GiGi’s 55 locations attended!

Nancy Gianni, our Chief Belief Officer presented at the Conference on how GiGi’s partners with other Down syndrome Associations to further advance the message of global acceptance for all individuals with Down syndrome. From this presentation, many conversations were had with leaders from communities all over the US on how we can support the Down syndrome community stronger when we work together! We are proud and humbled to be a voice of #strongertogether in this community

GiGi Gianni was at the booth signing #GenerationG books, kissing babies (her very favorite!) and catching up with friends!

Speaking of the booth! We had such a fun time making sure that the vibe of GiGi’s Playhouse could be felt in our spot! From areas focusing on our FREE purposeful programming, to sharing with the many friends who want to learn about how to build a GiGi’s Playhouse in their communities to the amazing Hugs & Mugs booth where people had the option to buy mugs water bottles and swag or even create a custom design to be put on a mug or water bottle, on the spot! One of our favorite comments was “your booth was ROCKIN’ the entire time!“

On Saturday evening GiGi’s Playhouse hosted a cocktail hour to welcome old friends & new to celebrate all we are doing and hear from our partners on the great work they are doing. In true GiGi’s style, the party was a hard one to leave, the conversations where so encouraging and we laughed until it hurt.  It is a true gift to be able to cheer people on to do the big work all while having a great time!

We are looking forward to the 2020 NDSC Conference in New Orleans, connecting with new friends and old and working with you all to change the way the world views Down syndrome while creating acceptance for ALL!
