December Volunteer Spotlight: Victoria Capdevila

Meet Victoria!

Victoria started volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse in high school after meeting
her best friend who has Down syndrome.
She loved having a sense of
community,
building relationships through the playhouse, and helping
participants build life skills in the kitchen.
After volunteering at the

GiGi’s Playhouse in Hillsborough, New Jersey for several years (including starting
their Cooking Club Program!),
her husband got relocated to San Diego.
She immediately contacted the
San Diego Playhouse to get involved.

After waiting out COVID, Victoria has been volunteering at
Gigi’s San Diego for almost 3 months
and has started a Cooking Club here as well.

“A favorite quote is what my best friend in high school would always tell people:
‘I want people to see me able, not my label.'”

Thank you Victoria for being part of our
GiGi’s San Diego family!
