Proud Aunt

This week, we have the pleasure of introducing Carly Bryner. She has been part of the start-up team here in San Diego for quite some time and prior to her move to San Diego, she had already taken the #GenerationG pledge in Chicago!
Carly’s Words
My brother was blessed with a beautiful little girl in May 2011. Simone was diagnosed at birth with Down syndrome, leading the family on a journey with many fears, concerns, and questions. Through this journey, we found GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago. We are so grateful for all that Gigi’s Playhouse has done, not only for my family, but also for so many families in need of support. This is why I feel it is so important that we open an Achievement Center in San Diego. GiGi’s Playhouse helps families impacted by Down syndrome with support, therapeutic, and educational services, all at no cost. I truly believe that my niece, Simone, has benefited so much from all the therapeutic and social support that GiGi’s Playhouse offers.
Simone’s Achievements
At 5 years old, we are so proud of her ability to read, write, count, swim and dance! I am so impressed by Simone’s desire to learn. In addition, I am also so proud of my brother for his continued strength and perseverance to make sure she is surrounded by therapists and teachers that continue to advance her learning.
Simone may have an extra chromosome… It is what I call the love chromosome. She is the most loving child I have ever known!
GiGi’s Playhouse San Diego
GiGi’s Playhouse is being launched in San Diego to help individuals with Down Syndrome achieve their greatest potential. I am honored to be part of this start-up team, and we are actively seeking support to bring the vision of GiGi’s Playhouse into the San Diego area in the Spring of 2017. We are always looking for people who want to volunteer or donate to such an amazing program.
