Celebrating Anne: Tony Gwynn Community All-Star Recipient and Youth Board President

At GiGi’s Playhouse San Diego, we are thrilled to celebrate one of our incredible Youth Board leaders, Anne, for being selected as a recipient of the Tony Gwynn Community All-Stars award!
Launched by the San Diego Padres in honor of Tony Gwynn, the Tony Gwynn Community All-Stars program recognizes local high school students who demonstrate outstanding leadership and a strong commitment to supporting underserved communities. The program highlights young leaders who are making a meaningful difference through service, compassion, and community involvement.
Anne truly embodies all of those qualities and more.
As a longtime member of the GiGi’s Playhouse San Diego Youth Board and this year’s Youth Board President, Anne has dedicated countless hours to supporting our Playhouse community.
Over the years, she has volunteered at many of our programs and events, helping create a welcoming, uplifting, and empowering environment for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Anne has served as the lead for Kids Club, co-led Playhouse Pals, and assisted with special events and programs including Fall Fun Fest, World Down Syndrome Day celebrations, and the Fall Out 21 summer program.
Through her leadership, positivity, and dedication, Anne has become an important part of the Playhouse. Whether she is helping behind the scenes at events, supporting participants during programs, or leading fellow Youth Board members, Anne consistently shows what it means to serve others with heart and purpose.
This recognition comes during an especially exciting time for Anne, as she is also graduating this May. We are so proud to celebrate this incredible milestone alongside her well-deserved recognition as a community leader.
As part of receiving this honor, Anne was recognized on the field during a Padres game — an exciting and memorable moment celebrating her impact in the community. In addition, GiGi’s Playhouse San Diego received a generous $5,000 grant through the program, which will help us continue providing free educational, therapeutic, and career development programs for individuals with Down syndrome.
We are incredibly proud of Anne for applying for this opportunity and for being selected as a Tony Gwynn Community All-Star. Her commitment to inclusion and service inspires all of us, and we are so grateful for everything she continues to do for the Playhouse.
Congratulations, Anne, on this amazing achievement and on your upcoming graduation! Thank you for all of your continued work, leadership, and dedication to the GiGi’s Playhouse San Diego community.
