As our Playhouses grow, so do our program offerings. Each GiGi’s Playhouse is unique and offers a variety of educational and therapeutic programs to meet the needs of their families and their community. Signature programs follow the same structure and curriculum at each location, providing purposeful progressions by supporting our youngest learners through adulthood. Specialty programs provide for some customization at each location, to foster the ongoing development of new programs, serve specialized local needs and tap into local talents.

Best of All is continual, measurable, celebrated and it never ends. It is a daily challenge to do a little better than you did the day before and it is always celebrated. Possible manifestations include standing just one second longer, reading just one more word, learning just one new number, taking just one more step, it’s never a competition and is never completed.
Signature Therapeutic-Based Programs
Destination Discovery – Supports the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills and language through purposeful play and peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program also brings families together to share experiences and build relationships. All ages welcome.
Amina Grace Speech & Language Program – Provides youth, teens and adults with greatly expanded opportunities to evolve and refine their speech and language skills in a 1-on-1 setting. Effective enunciation, clarity of speech, word order and message meaning are paramount to fostering greater self-confidence, comprehension, problem-solving, school readiness, social skills, independence, and overall quality of life. Recommended for All Ages.
GiGiFIT – Focuses on improving areas of fitness through activities in strength, endurance, joint stability, balance, movement control and more. GiGiFIT promotes wellness through nutrition, pushing through barriers and building self-confidence. Check your local Playhouse for appropriate age-based program.
LMNOP – LMNOP is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language-based activities. Recommended for ages newborn to 36 months.
Crawlers & Walkers – Focuses on the development of gross and fine motor skills through activities that are hands-on and fun! Social skills and language development will also be addressed, with focus on learning new words, following directions and interacting with peers. Recommended for 1-5-year-olds.
Leaps & Bounds – This program will help promote social, emotional, large and small muscle group development. Children will participate in fun and engaging activities that require movement and interaction with their environment. Recommended for children ages 3-5 years old.
School Age Learners
Playhouse Pals – Support the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program also supports gross motor skills through active games, as well as fine motor skills & self-help skills. Recommended for 5-8-year-olds.
Kids Club – Support the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program will also support gross motor skills through active games, fine motor and self-help skills through meal/snack preparation and activities. Recommended for 8-12-year-olds.
Teen Tastic – Focuses on building social skills with friends without Down syndrome by participating in team-based activities in a casual and fun setting. Skill development includes understanding compromise, turn-taking and problem-solving abilities. Recommended for ages 13-17-year-olds.
Fantastic Friends – A fun night out to facilitate social interactions between adults with Down syndrome, their peers and the community. Supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. All adults welcome from ages 18 and up.
Signature Education-Based Programs
Literacy Tutoring – Each individual learns to read and develop literacy skills at a different pace. The GiGi’s one-on-one Literacy Program builds a foundation in sight word recognition, vocabulary, comprehension and articulation through one-on-one literacy tutoring adapted to fit the learning style of individuals with Down syndrome. Recommended for ages 3 and up.
Math Tutoring – The aim of our math program is to help promote a positive experience of learning mathematics and to develop a sound foundation of basic number understanding. Understanding that our children will vary greatly in individual abilities and challenges in comprehending math, we combined multiple approaches which utilize multi-sensory teaching and aligned them with topics taught in the classroom, in hopes of providing a comprehensive and cohesive program.
Signature Career Development-Based Programs
The GiGi’s Career Development Programs are progressive learning programs designed to motivate adults with Down syndrome to achieve their highest potential in the world through innovative, educational, goal-development and small group skills instruction, health and wellness, career skills, empowerment, community engagement and exceptional work opportunities. GiGi’s Playhouse offers a three-tiered career development program that prepares adults with Down syndrome to gain meaningful employment/volunteer skills in their respective communities.
GiGi Prep – Our GiGi Prep program has an emphasis on building communication skills, money management, customer service skills, team building and wellness. This program is an application based program with high expectations to motivate adults with Down syndrome. GiGi’s Career Prep is designed for individuals aspiring to enroll in our GiGi University program. Recommended for ages 18+.
GiGi U – GiGi U is designed to motivate adults with Down syndrome to achieve their highest potential in the real world while developing their abilities in the areas of wellness, communication, and career skills with emphasis on job interviewing, communication skills, money management, public speaking, customer service, computer skills, team building and wellness. The ideal candidate will be highly goal-oriented and motivated to achieve a new level of personal success. GiGi U is an application and interview-based 15-week instructional program and is tailored specifically for adults with Down syndrome. Upon successful completion of the GiGi U program and with their new preparedness and drive to succeed, graduates then move on to our live retail environment within the career studio center as interns. The skills gained at GiGi U will resonate with graduates throughout their careers. Recommended for ages 18+.
Career Studio Internship – During the 300-hour career training program, interns will continue developing the skills newly learned at GiGi U. Each will manage different aspects of a real-life retail/professional environment- from managing money transactions to customer service to inventory control to fulfilling online orders, safe food handling skills, employee training and more. Throughout this internship, interns receive individualized, hands-on training applicable to a variety of work experiences through community engagement which leads to the achievement of goals through work or volunteer experiences. Various volunteer engagements are made available for future career opportunities for communities to support the overall broadening of Down syndrome achievement through engagement efforts. At the conclusion, interns receive referrals to potential fields of employment, based on their strengths and interests-all with the goal of partnering with the family to help participants obtain community-based employment. A few of our internship opportunities across the United States and Mexico are: GiGi’s Hugs & Mugs, GiGi’s Studio, GiGi’s Studio & Boutique and GiGi’s Professionals.
