Volunteer Spotlight: Noa Dor

Hi! My name is Noa, and I’m a Junior at Tulane University studying Psychology
and Communications. Being an intern at Gigi’s Playhouse NOLA has been one of
the most insightful and fun experiences I’ve had during my time in New Orleans.
Gigi’s has been an incredible, constant organization throughout my academic
career after working with the Gigi’s Atlanta team in high school, which is why I am
so lucky to be able to work with them again.
I love leading the Saturday GiGiMOVE Adult class and assisting in GiGi’s STEM Lab.
It has been an incredible experience to be a part of both programs. My favorite part
of leading the fitness class is when I get to try out new types of fitness with
everyone and see what each person enjoys most. So far, Just Dance seems to
be a class favorite! Personally, I really enjoyed the strength-based yoga class
that I led a few weeks ago, as it got everyone involved and excited in a new way I
hadn’t seen yet. I am also a literacy tutor and have really enjoyed connecting
one-on-one through different lesson plans.
Some fun facts about me are that I bake sourdough bread and love experimenting
with different recipes and baked goods, I am (almost) trilingual and am currently
learning French, and I love cats!
I have loved interning at GiGi’s so far and hope to continue my time at the
Playhouse during my time in New Orleans. It has helped me learn and grow as a
person and student, and I love seeing and talking to everyone while at the
Playhouse. If you see me around, please don’t hesitate to say hi, as I truly look
forward to every time I get to be on-site and can’t wait for future visits!
