Celebrating Matthew Rolfes, 2026 Graduate!

This month, we are excited to celebrate an incredible member of our GiGi’s Playhouse New Orleans family, Matthew Rolfes!
If you’ve spent any time at the Playhouse, chances are you’ve met Matthew. Known for his big smile, warm hugs, and kind heart, Matthew has a way of making everyone feel welcome. He brings joy wherever he goes and is always ready to encourage those around him.
Matthew and his family have been part of the GiGi’s Playhouse New Orleans community since 2021. Over the years, he has become a familiar face in many of our adult programs. Whether he’s dancing in GiGiMOVE, creating masterpieces in Art Explosion, or socializing in Fantastic Friends, Matthew is always eager to get involved and give his Best of All.

Matthew also volunteers during our LMNOP and Leaps & Bounds programs and absolutely adores spending time with the babies and young children. His patience, kindness, and enthusiasm make him a wonderful role model for our younger participants.
When he’s not at GiGi’s Playhouse, Matthew stays active through Miracle League, where he participates in kickball, basketball, and baseball.
This year, Matthew reached an exciting milestone as he graduated from St. Michael Special School! During his time there, he earned special recognition as the MVP of the basketball team and received an award as a top student council member. He also served as a chairperson of the Student Council Birthday Committee, helping celebrate and recognize his fellow students throughout the year.
Matthew isn’t slowing down anytime soon! This fall, he will continue his journey at the Joy Center, where he will have new opportunities to learn, grow, and build friendships.
These accomplishments reflect the leadership, dedication, and kindness that we see in Matthew every day. Whether he’s encouraging a teammate, welcoming a friend with a hug, or helping others feel included, Matthew always goes out of his way to make those around him feel special.
Matthew’s positivity, determination, and caring nature make him such a special part of our Playhouse community. We are incredibly proud of all that he has accomplished and cannot wait to see what he does next.
Congratulations, Matthew! Thank you for sharing your smile, your kindness, and your enthusiasm with all of us. We are so lucky to have you as part of the GiGi’s Playhouse New Orleans family.
