Generation G:
A conscious decision to be better every day.
Be accepting. Be generous. Be kind.

In the last 17 years, GiGi’s Playhouse has made significant progress and impact in supporting individuals with Down syndrome, but we have only scratched the surface. Still, new parents are not receiving the positive encouragement they need from medical professionals upon receiving a diagnosis. Students with Down syndrome still experience unfounded discrimination at school and on social media. Qualified adults with Down syndrome may not be able to access meaningful jobs. Dedicated GiGi’s locations, FREE purposeful programs, and positive support alone do not guarantee long-term success.

There is still so much more to do!

Without more action to create lasting acceptance, opportunities for present and future generations will falter. Our kids and adults never get to take a break from their diagnosis. Therefore, we will not stop fighting for them.

Generation G challenges the status quo by stepping outside of comfort zones.

Give an individual with a disability an employment opportunity.

Smile & say hi to someone new. Volunteer.

One in every 700 babies is born with Down syndrome, making it a leading cause of developmental delay. Individuals with Down syndrome experience challenges with the development of speech and language and motor skills. GiGi’s Playhouse offers lifetime support from prenatal diagnosis to adulthood. Because of the generosity of both supporters and a large team of volunteers, all GiGi’s programs are provided free of charge to participants. GiGi’s purposeful, individual, and group programs use a holistic approach, targeting all areas of development.

This year, we continued to think creatively and learned how we could best serve our community both virtually and in-person on a local and national level. Thanks to the flexibility of our volunteers and Playhouse families we have been able to continue making meaningful connections and continue offering our always FREE, educational, therapeutic and career development programming. Explore our program offerings here and make sure to view the Virtual Tour of GiGi’s Playhouse Madison.
