Thankful

November is classically known as the month to count your blessings and tell others how thankful you are for them and what they do.   As a non-profit organization, we attempt to show our thanks day-in and day-out, because we would not exist without the big and small acts of kindness from our community.

In the spirit of the holiday season, we are going to showcase some individuals we are incredibly thankful for!

Last week some friends of Charlie and Lincoln Dubovec came by to drop off a donation.  Malena Woody collected items for her birthday to bring to GiGi’s! She is accompanied by  Braylen and Easton in this photo.  No matter your age or status, you can make a positive difference in your community.  We are so thankful for the kindness and sincere intention of Malena and hope this inspires you to make a purposeful act of kindness.

On November 16, our adult program called SMART is choosing to have an “I am thankful” evening at our Playhouse rather than take an outing.  We are encouraging each attendee to bring non-perishable food items that we will donate to a local food shelter.  Our conversations will be geared towards why it’s important to help those in need while we create our “thankful tree” to display in the Playhouse.  Again, actions big or small can truly have a positive impact those around us and leave us feeling good inside.

GiGi’s Indianapolis staff is especially thankful for our volunteers. We have been blessed with amazing program leaders who have gone above and beyond in making sure our programs are at their very best.  One program we’d like to highlight is LMNOP.  LMNOP has been lead by Tom Elsworth for the last several weeks, as Molly Brumelve has been out on maternity leave.  Tom did a phenomenal job in making sure each program hour was executed to highlight our Best of All, as he followed Molly’s pre-made lesson plans that were thought up before she went on leave!  Wow!  Miss Molly is now back in action as the LMNOP leader.   Below are some photos of Tom at our program.

We hope these short stories inspire you to see the good in our world and aspire to live the #GenerationG lifestyle — be accepting, be generous, be kind.
