Inspiration, Community & Recognition!

We are so excited to announce County Land & Title, LLC as our 2021 Partner of the Year!

This award recognizes a GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau partner that displays a commitment to the support and growth of the Playhouse and the many families and volunteers that enter.  This partner celebrates those with a Down syndrome diagnosis and is a leader in their community for changing the way those with a Down syndrome diagnosis are perceived, sending a global message of acceptance for all!

County Land & Title, LLC (Paul & Jackie Duerst) have been involved in many facets of GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau’s development over the last two years, especially as we worked through fundraising and opening our doors during a pandemic. From Jackie serving on the Board of Managers and serving as a co-lead for our inaugural 5K Glow Fun Run/Walk to Paul setting up fundraising opportunities across County Land & Title locations in the state, they have dedicated their time and financial support to creating smiles and achievement at the Playhouse.

County Land & Title, LLC has been and continues to a leading community partner. We thank them for all their support, and we are excited to see our partnership grow in 2022!

Now it is time for our Volunteer of the Year, Valerie Parker!

This award recognizes and honors an outstanding GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau individual who has volunteered their time and talent!  This individual is/has made a significant contribution to the success of a participant, program, and/or event, ultimately creating impact within the Playhouse. They display a commitment, service, creativity, cooperation, and leadership in all that they do! They are Generation G!

Valerie Parker was the organization behind our inaugural 5K Glow Fun Run/Walk!  We first met Valerie, who works for the Village of Weston, when inquiring about the logistics of holding a 5K.  After about the 20th question we had, we asked if she would like to serve on our 5K committee and she said yes! Valerie, with her prior experience organizing runs and connections within the Village was able to make our 5K a truly impacting and fun event for all!  And she said yes to helping in 2022!

Valerie continues to be dedicated to the Playhouse, even inviting us to an outing to see the many alpacas she owns! We thank you for your leadership this year.  Your contributions have made such a difference in the lives of participants and families utilizing the Playhouse!
