Volunteer at GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau!

“I volunteer at GiGi’s to celebrate the diversity in our community and encourage acceptance and compassion for all. The Best of All moments are the best part of the week!” Hannah Program Coordinator/LMNOP Lead

This year we had an amazing crew of volunteers who used their talents and skills to help us empower individuals with Down syndrome and their families to achieve their Best of All! From helping us solidify our first group of signature programs,  coming up with fun, creative and engaging family activities, creating programming sessions that improve fine and gross motor skills, capturing incredible moments to share with our community via social media, and allowing us to expand programming options!  Our volunteers did all this!

We are always seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to be a part of our GiGi’s family.  Volunteers are welcome to make a difference in any and all areas of Playhouse operation, whether it is programs, fundraising, administrative, or even cleaning!

Programs: Volunteers can interact with participants and families during programs that have specific goals for different age groups.  Volunteers can lead and even use their creative juices in creating purposeful themed lesson plans.   Volunteers, can also focus their talents on participants for one-on-one tutoring, tailoring curriculum to that child’s needs.  We need dedicated tutors for fall training and tutoring in spring 2022!

Committees: Volunteers can serve on one or more committees that really are the worker bees of the Playhouse. The fundraising committee is responsible for our two largest events of the year (5K Glow Fun Run/Walk & GiGi’s Crafted Locally Made), creating a fundraising plan and budget!  The outreach committee is responsible for family events, presentations within the community, and general awareness of the Playhouse like at the Business Expo!  We are currently expanding committees to include New Family Relations and Marketing. Come join us!
