Participant Best of All: Robin Brown

GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa wants to highlight one of our adult participants named Robin Brown who has been making numerous strides in multiple programs as of recent.

Karly, one of the speech language pathologists from the USF graduate program, has been working closely with Robin this Summer 2025 session. Karly has noticed what many of us around GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa have noticed recently in group program – Robin has become much more social and confident in her speaking!

Whether it is GiGi’s Kitchen Adult, GiGiFIT Adult, Yoga, or our one- off Flamenco Dance Program last month – Robin has become more social by dancing and singing, as well as sharing favorite songs with friends in speech & group programs!

Karly has witnessed Robin accomplish her ‘Best of All’ during a texting activity in the Speech Program, which has had real world rewards for Robin that can’t be understated. One of Robin’s personal goals has been to improve her conversation skills, so by using cards with phrases, Karly has helped Robin improve her ability to select and stack groups of cards accordingly that would create a complete conversation. By being able to string together cards containing greetings, questions, responses, comments, and farewells, Robin can now form complete mock text messaging conversations, all of which afford our friend more independence, confidence, and freedom of expression in both written and verbal communication. So because of this, we are celebrating Robin.
