Meet Our Programs – Fantastic Friends

Fantastic Friends – A fun night out to facilitate social interactions between adults with Down syndrome, their peers and the community. Supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. All adults welcome from ages 18 and up.

  • Increase social skills, with a focus on group participation and increasing leisure activity options
  • Increase language development, with a focus on appropriateness, maintaining conversation and non-verbal social language
  • Increase gross motor skills, with a focus on general health, fitness (strength and balance) and awareness of personal space
  • Increase fine motor skills and self-help skills through participation in a variety of activities

 

 

Fantastic Friends – Amigos Fantásticos – Una salida de noche para facilitar la interacción social entre adultos con Síndrome de Down, sus compañeros y la comunidad.  Apoyar el desarrollo de destrezas sociales y lenguaje a través de interacciones de compañero a compañero en un ambiente casual y divertido. Todos los adultos son bienvenidos de edades de 18 años en adelante.

  • Aumentar destrezas sociales, con énfasis en la participación en grupo y aumento en alternativas de actividad recreativa
  • Aumentar el desarrollo de lenguaje con énfasis en lenguaje apropiado, mantener una conversación y lenguaje social no-verbal
  • Aumentar destrezas motor gruesas, con énfasis en salud general, aptitud física (fortaleza y balance) y sensibilidad de espacio personal
  • Aumento en destrezas motor fino y destrezas de autoayuda a través de la participación en una variedad de actividades.
