Meet your Program Lead for Destination Discovery
GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa has been blessed to attract volunteers who want to be Program Leads that come to us with extraordinary experience and a personal connection to the Down syndrome community.
Karen Probst will be the Program Lead for Destination Discovery which is offered for ALL AGES (siblings welcome). Destination Discovery supports the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills and language through purposeful play and peer to peer interaction in a causal and fun setting. This program also brings families together to share experiences and build relationships. Come and stay for entire session or for parts of session. Be sure to RSVP if you are coming for the total number of participants so we can plan for volunteers.
Karen was born and raised in New York City and Long Island, New York, moved to the Tampa Bay Area in 1971 where she met her husband John of 41 years. They have been blessed with two loving sons, Christian and Michael.
She earned her CDA, Childhood Development Associates Degree and has been an Early Childhood Educator for over twenty years in inclusive programs.
On a personal note, she is active in her Church, enjoys and treasures time with friends and family, local sporting events (anniversary date with Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1972). She has been a loyal member of Ye Loyal Krewe of Grace O’Malley for over 10 years, and served on the Board for 3 yrs. She was Goodwill Chair (serving the Community in many ways) and Making Strides Chair (support and Breast Cancer Walk).
We are excited she is part of our Tampa Team.
