Love Our Team – Nathan Kessler

As many of you may know we only have 2 paid staff. The rest of our team are all volunteers! That includes board members, interns, programs leaders and more. We asked a group of key volunteers to provide some insight into their lives, reasons why they’re involved, and a fun fact about themselves too!

During this month of love, we are showing love and appreciation for our team. This is part 2 of the series.

Please meet Nathan Kessler (if you haven’t already)! Nathan is a member of our board, and his day job is at Quad City Bank & Trust.

Nathan heard about GiGi’s from a friend, and he has been a supporter for about 10 years but joined the board in 2021.

Nathan Kessler, Board Member

When asked why he’s involved, he had this to say:

“A very close family friend has a child that is a regular participant at GiGi’s Playhouse. Since that time, I and my family have been supporters of GiGi’s Playhouse.”

His words of advice for someone just getting started are:

“Be as available as you can be for meetings and events. Attending the Superhero Run, Gala, and other events gives a greater insight and meaning to GiGi’s Playhouse.”

When asked to say one thing to say about GiGi’s, he said:

“The Mission and Purpose says it all, “To change the way the world views Down syndrome and to send a global message of acceptance for all.” This is an absolute perfect summary and what I look to champion!”

When asked if he would recommend other get involved his answer was: “ABSOLUTEY!”

One fun fact about Nathan is:

“I am a complete bourbon nerd and spend WAY too much time reading about, tasting and enjoying the distilled spirit!”

We LOVE Nathan and can appreciate his love for bourbon!
