Stronger Together: Friends, Fun and Fitness

If you follow us on Facebook you may have seen the videos from our all new Friends, Fun and Fitness Program. This program has been made possible not only by the partnership discussed below but also a partnership with a local HyVee and thanks to a grant from the Scott County Regional Development Authority.

So far it has been an amazing experience for all our participants, coaches and leaders. There is no way we could make this program as amazing as it is without the community support in the Quad Cities. This is the first of several blogs that will highlight the programs we offer here at the Quad Cities location.

Friends, Fun and Fitness at CrossFit OC3

I can tell you the idea of Cross Fit can scare anyone. As the writer of this blog, I can tell you, Cross Fit looks hard and it is a great workout. Colin reached out to GiGi’s Playhouse in September of 2017 wanting to get involved with our Playhouse. He had heard about us from Maggie and Em, who lead our Friends, Fun and Fitness program earlier (they are still with us). We thought this was amazing, of course, and jumped on the opportunity. We met with Colin and set up a day to preview what the program would look like and if our participants had an interest in it. That first day in October, it was a hit! All our friends loved meeting Colin and the rest of the coaches and parents were so excited to learn more about it! We started our first Friends, Fun and Fitness session in January of 2018 and everyone has loved it. Colin and his team of coaches have taken the time to modify workouts so all our participants can show their “BestofAll”.  They talk to them about healthy eating, making healthy choices and they spend time getting to know each of the participants. Bottom line though, they BELIEVE in each one of our friends and we could not be more blessed to have them as part of our team. There is no doubt in our mind, the CrossFit OC3 is generationG, as they are generous with their time, accepting of all our participants and kind. There is not a time we have been there that they have not been motivating, positive and building strong relationships with our friends. Everyone leaves Friends, Fun and Fitness with a smile on their face. Our families love having this partnership with CrossFit OC3 and I cannot wait to see what they will show us next!

We will share information about the partnership with HyVee for this program in a future blog post so please check back!
