Meet Maria

Here at GiGi’s, we’re gearing up for spring and our local colleges are beginning their first semesters for 2022. We are excited to have 3 interns joining us this spring (two from St Ambrose University and one from Augustana College). They are hitting the ground running with great ideas, planning, and so much more. Today we’d like for you to meet Maria. Below she has shared a little about herself and what she is looking forward to here at GiGi’s.

My name is Maria and I am so excited to be volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities! For the next few months, I will be working behind the scenes as the new marketing intern. My job involves creating digital content for our social media platforms to make sure we raise as much awareness of GiGi’s as possible!

A little bit about me: I am originally from the Quad Cities and am currently a student at St. Ambrose University. This spring, I will graduate with a degree in Public Relations and Graphic Design. Outside of school, I am a volleyball coach, artist, kickboxer, dog lover, and friend.

I chose to intern at GiGi’s because I wanted to be part of an organization that really makes a difference in people’s lives. I am so grateful to be able to work for a cause that I am passionate about.

Maria will be doing much of her volunteering remotely but will be at the Playhouse every Friday during the day and also during some group programs. We hope that many of you are able to meet her while she is here.

Stay tuned for introductions to the other interns coming soon!
