December 2023 Highlights

Every month we take a few minutes to look back at the #bestofall moments from the previous month.

This fall Abby was the only participant that attended all 15 sessions of her literacy tutoring. She also attended 14 out of the 15 of her math sessions. Abby always comes in ready to work and give her #bestofall. You may remember that at our gala she was recognized as the participant of the year. This is a great example of why she was chosen for that award. Way to go, Abby! Keep up the good work. Kudos to her tutors Kevin and Megan for also attending the most sessions out of all paired students and tutors. Consistent attendance is key to building relationships and a successful tutoring session. PS Thank you to Abby’s parents for believing in the free purposeful programs being offered. They live about 40 minutes from the Playhouse but make attending programs a priority and it shows in Abby’s attendance and in her progressions within the programs she attends.

This fall was the first session that Margaret tutored! She took on 3 students. Yes, 3 students and to make it more interesting those students were of varying ages which means her planning and implementation of the sessions varied greatly. Let us tell you….she was phenomenal! She planned ahead, was ready to work with her participants and ready to adjust lessons as needed, and she completed the progress trackers for each student in a timely manner. Thank you, Margaret!

At Christmas time, we had a number of organizations and individuals come forward in December to provide gifts and food for our holiday parties. Many thanks to Cassin Wolfe with Modern Woodmen, The Private Cities Wealth Group, Maddie Blackbourn (former intern), and Ms. Ann for making our holiday parties so much fun!
