Volunteer With Us: Spring 2026 Event Opportunities

Spring is one of our busiest (and most joyful!) seasons at GiGi’s Playhouse New Orleans, and we have several upcoming events that need the help of our incredible volunteer community. Whether you love hands-on event support or spreading the message of acceptance to thousands of people, there’s a role for you.
Below are our upcoming volunteer event opportunities, with registration links for each.

World Down Syndrome Day Crawfish Boil
Saturday, March 21 (3/21 — our favorite number!)
Our World Down Syndrome Day Crawfish Boil is a community favorite and a celebration of inclusion, connection, and fun. This event is a collaboration with Post 350 Veterans Club as part of the Ridgewood Fest.
Volunteer roles include:
- Bagging crawfish
- Serving crawfish
- Helping keep the event running smoothly
This is a wonderful day to celebrate with our community while supporting our FREE programs for individuals with Down syndrome.

Crescent City Classic 10K – Health & Fitness Expo
Hyatt Regency New Orleans
The Crescent City Classic Health & Fitness Expo brings thousands of attendees from across New Orleans and across the country. Volunteers at our booth help spread the message of acceptance and inclusion while sharing information about GiGi’s Playhouse.
Important notes:
- This opportunity is best suited for volunteers who are already familiar with GiGi’s Playhouse through volunteering or program participation.
- Parents may bring a child if they are comfortable sitting in a small, confined booth space.
- Volunteers who complete a full shift may request parking reimbursement from GiGi’s Playhouse.
- The Health & Fitness Expo has its own registration link.

Crescent City Classic 10K – Start Line Volunteers
Saturday, April 4, 2026 | 5:30am–9:00am
Start your race day early by volunteering at the start line as a representative of GiGi’s Playhouse New Orleans Down Syndrome Achievement Center.
By signing up, you are committing to a start line volunteer shift. The Crescent City Classic team will be in touch closer to race day with specific instructions and a virtual volunteer orientation.
Volunteer perks include:
- Official CCC Volunteer T-shirt
- Free parking at the starting line
- Ability to run/walk the race course
- Entry into the post-race festival in City Park
- Chance to receive a 2026 GiGi’s Playhouse Team T-shirt (while supplies last)
Age requirements:
- Volunteers may volunteer alone starting at age 14
- No minimum age if accompanied by a guardian (guardians may volunteer too!)

Michelob Ultra Race Fest Party
City Park – Post-Race Celebration
After the race, the celebration continues! Volunteers are needed to:
- Help set up the GiGi’s Playhouse tent
- Assist during the Race Fest
- Break down and clean up afterward
Race Fest bands will be provided to volunteers.

5th Annual GiGi’s Playhouse Golf Tournament
Friday, May 15
Our annual golf tournament is a major fundraiser supporting our FREE, purposeful programs. Volunteers help with a variety of roles to ensure the day runs smoothly for golfers, sponsors, and guests.
