Unveiling 2024: A Year of Impact, Growth, and Shared Achievements!

Join us in the journey to make a difference from day one.

Our focus in our 8th year of serving the greater Madison community is GROWTH. We have plans to grow our program offerings, our outreach and the number of families we serve.

Everyone that is involved with our community can play an important part in this. Volunteering, financial support and advocacy all help change the world. See below to learn how!

Our playhouse model is based on being 99% volunteer run. This is a major reason we are able to keep our programs 100% free of charge for our families.

What could be a perfect volunteer role for you?

Submit a volunteer application here to learn more about each of the rolls below.

  • Board of Directors
    • This volunteer role is a great opportunity to share your talents in an impactful way
    • We are continually recruiting new members as we expand our offerings
    • We have a working board, which means you have the chance to be very hands on in all aspects of running our Playhouse
    • The board meets monthly and additional time commitments will depend on the type of role you take on
    • Fill out a board application to share your interest in learning more
  • Literacy or Math tutoring
    • Read THIS BLOG to learn everything you need to know to make a decision to volunteer
  • Program leaders and co-leaders

    • We offer purposeful programs for ALL ages and provide guidelines and trainings on how to best facilitate these important programs
  • Special event and fundraiser event volunteers
    • We have events throughout the year that we need support to run
    • Time commitments can be as little as one hour
  • Committee Members
    • These roles are not part of the Board of Directors but help support the strategic work they do
      • Examples are:
        • Marketing
        • Outreach
        • Fundraising
        • Family Connection
        • Down syndrome ambassador support
        • Event planning
  • Administrative Support
    • There are many behind the scenes tasks that make our Playhouse run smoothly

Financial Support

Although we are part of a national network of Playhouses, we are self-funded locally. This means any funds we raise stay right here and directly benefit families in the greater Madison area.

Our promise to the families we serve is that cost will never be a barrier. This is why we work diligently to secure funding through sponsorships, grants and personal donations.

What’s the most impactful way you or your business can support the Down syndrome community?

  • Visit our SUPPORT PAGE to learn about the many options we have available
    • Examples include workplace giving, stock gifts, and purchasing items from our Amazon wish list
  • Share grant opportunities with us!
    • We are constantly seeking out new grant opportunities and have dedicated volunteers and staff that submit grant applications throughout the year
    • You can view the grants we have received over the years on our DONOR PAGE
  • Become an event sponsor
  • Become a Friends of GiGi’s Partner
    • We are so proud of this partnership opportunity because it allows us to build lasting and impactful relationships with our largest supporters.
    • These partners automatically become sponsors of all three of our major fundraisers

Generation G is a movement that means to be accepting, generous and kind. It is also the basis for all the advocacy and outreach work we do.

How can you and your network become an advocate for the Down syndrome community?

  • Attend and participate in our special events and fundraisers
    • Publicly showing your support benefits both you and your community
  • Invite us to visit your local schools to share about what acceptance is! We love connecting with our community.
  • Support your company’s DEI efforts with our resource materials
    • To check out our resources visit HERE and be sure to contact us at madison@gigisplayhouse.org to have a conversation about how we can partner with you
  • Read and share our free Generation G Magazine
  • Share your connections at hospitals, clinics and other organizations you think would benefit from learning about the resources our Playhouse has to offer
