Ready, Set, Spring!

GiGi’s Playhouse Madison is gearing up for another fun session, full of FREE Program Offerings for ALL ages. Our Spring Session kicks off the week of January 29th and runs through April 26th. All Group Programs will run the same time and day each week, and will led by 2-3 trained, energetic and FUN Program Leaders! Check out our weekly Group Program schedule below!

Tuesdays at the Playhouse

• TeenTastic + GiGi’s Kitchen Teen for TEENS Ages 13-17 Years Old
  • TeenTastic focuses on building social skills with friends with and without Down syndrome by participating in team-based activities in a casual and fun setting. Skill development includes understanding compromise, turn-taking and problem-solving abilities. GiGi’s Kitchen is designed to emphasize the importance of health and wellness through nutrition education, kitchen safety, food preparation, social activities and a shared meal/snack.
  • Participants are encouraged to stay for both programs – they will run back-to-back!

Wednesdays at the Playhouse

• GiGiFIT Adult for ADULTS Ages 18+
  • GiGiFIT introduces the key movements of foundational, hip strengthening, and vestibular/balance exercises, making them successful to implement and practice at any stage of life! Focuses on improving areas of fitness through activities in strength, endurance, joint stability, balance, movement control and more. GiGiFIT promotes wellness through nutrition, pushing through barriers and building self-confidence
• 5:30-6:30pm every Wednesday | January 31st through April 24th

Thursdays at the Playhouse

• GiGiFIT Kids for Kids Ages 5-12 years old

• Fantastic Friends for ADULTS Ages 18+
  • Fantastic Friends is a fun purposeful & social gathering for adults with Down syndrome, their peers and the community. Supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting.
• 5:30-6:30pm every Thursday | February 1st through April 25th

Fridays at the Playhouse

• LMNOP + GiGiFIT Infant and Toddler for ages Birth – 4 years old
  • Language Music N’ Our Peeps (LMNOP) is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication while using music and language-based activities.
  • GiGiFIT Infant and Toddler introduces the concepts of foundational movements, mobility, visual-vestibular, and reflex integration activities. In a fun environment we are purposefully progressing on improving areas of fitness through activities in strength, endurance, joint stability, balance, movement control and more
• 9:00-11:00am every Friday | February 2nd through April 26th

Saturdays at the Playhouse

• Dynamic Duals – ALL Ages
  • Designed specifically for families and individuals with a dual diagnosis of Down syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder (DS-ASD) and/or sensory or behavioral challenges. Parents and adult siblings meet in one area to connect, have fun, share successes, resources, and strategies while individuals with Ds and ASD and/or sensory concerns engage in fun educational activities that respect the needs of each participant. Siblings can join their brother or sister in activities that match their interests or choose other options.
• 1:30-3:00pm monthly | January 27, February 24, March 23, April 20, May 18

• Destination Discovery – ALL Ages
  • Play = Fun + Learning Destination Discovery supports the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills and language through purposeful play and peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program also brings families together to share experiences and build relationships.

We have over 50 Volunteers Onboarded and ready to kick off our next Session of Programming! In addition to the personal and professional experience these volunteers bring to the Playhouse, all volunteers are subject to background checks and receive specialized program training through the GiGi’s Playhouse National Organization.
