Program Committee Chair needed

A key area of responsibility at GiGi’s Playhouse is Program Committee Chair, and GiGi’s-Madison is seeking a candidate to fill this volunteer role for a three-year term beginning July 1st of 2017.  The scope of work includes:

  • Understanding the needs of the playhouse and establish programming goals based on those needs, adding or subtracting programs as necessary
  • Defining the set of programs to be offered in the playhouse and the respective program schedule  (Program descriptions available at gigisplayhouse.org)
  • Ensuring volunteers and parent hosts are trained and available for each program, with assistance from Site Coordinator
  • Periodically attending programs to ensure they are representing the playhouse well
  • Defining the schedules (session dates, days and hours) for all programs
  • Managing playhouse availability in collaboration with the Site Coordinator to ensure no overlaps in programs
  • Building/maintaining partnerships with organizations that can provide groups of volunteers as needed
  • Managing the program coordinators (Literacy, Math, etc.) and act as their advocates within the board

It is preferred that candidates have backgrounds in OT, PT, SLP therapies, Special Ed., other educational degrees, and/or considerable experience in working with children and adults with special needs.   Please contact Julia Meyers at GiGi’s Playhouse jmeyers@gigisplayhouse.org  608-709-1411 for questions or to indicate an interest in this opportunity.
