Meet our special Gala guest speaker: Dan Coppola from Cafe Domestique!

Meet our special guest speaker who will talk at our Gala “i have a Voice” on October 25, 2019 at the Lake Windsor Country Club: Dan Coppola!

Dan Coppola grew up in Monona, WI – the second of seven kids. From an early age he was hooked on bikes, and by the time I was thirteen his focus was solely on riding mountain bikes, and in high school Dan had the opportunity to work at a small local bike shop called Mobile Mechanics. Through college Dan continued to ride and focused on the mechanical end of the industry, eventually working for USA Cycling as a mechanic for the Junior Development program and helping manage camps for the Paralympic Development Program in Colorado Springs, focusing in physically and visually disabled cyclists interested in competing at the international level.

After attending school at the University of Wisconsin (where he studied forestry) Dan started working for Trek Travel, an international bike vacation company based in Wisconsin. Dan spent six years at Trek Travel, guiding bike vacations and managing trip logistics (bikes, vehicles and equipment) for vacations in North America, Europe, central America, New Zealand and Australia. Dan met his wife, Kathryn, at Trek Travel and they moved to the southwest where she completed a masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and then they moved back to Madison in the winter of 2013, and Kathryn opened an acupuncture practice. Dan and Kathryn now have two little kids – Hazel (3) and Lucy (almost 1).

At the Gala he will speak about something different than bikes. He will talk about his youngest sister, Anna. Anna has Down syndrome and has been coming to GiGi’s for almost two years now. At our Gala, Dan, with Anna, will talk about the being a brother of a young and active woman with Down syndrome and how Anna has enriched the Coppola’s life in a very special way.

Don’t miss out on meeting Dan and Anna at our Gala.

Ticket’s are now available: https://gigisplayhouse.org/madison/gala/

See you on the 25th of October!
