Eagle Scout Fulfills a Need

Eagle ScoutJonathan Purnell

When Jonathan decided to achieve his Eagle Scout rank he had to decide what project would be best for him to complete. Jonathan said he chose GiGi’s because “My brother Thomas attends, and really enjoys it. GiGi’s seemed like a good place to help because they help my brother and all sorts of other people.”  Jonathan saw some amazing progress happening in the programming his brother attended and brought us some ideas. After some discussion, it was decided he would create two pieces for us!

To create a movable multi-use cart and a chair cart he had to gather palette wood from various sources and cut the best parts down for the project. He also added sturdy wheels and paint to make them very functional.

Becoming an Eagle Scout is a long and intensive process. You have to achieve the 6 ranks before it, and complete different requirements, like serving as a leader in your troop for at least 6 months and an Eagle Scout project. Jonathan recently graduated from LaFollette High School and will be attending UW-Madison to study computer science. He plans to stay involved with scouting in some form.  In his free time- he likes to hang out with friends, play video games and do things with his brother.

We love having these pieces to use in the Playhouse! Thank you Jonathan!
