Success was HUGE at the 5th Annual Dash for Down Syndrome

Our 5th annual Dash for Down Syndrome was a huge success thanks to our sponsors, families, volunteers and community!

What a day! Our 5th Annual Dash for Down Syndrome was our biggest and most joyful celebration yet, bringing together nearly 400 people who walked, ran, rolled, cheered, danced, and celebrated acceptance alongside the incredible Down syndrome community.

Held under blue skies and sunshine, we truly had the best weather yet and the energy matched it from start to finish.

This event is so much more than a fundraiser. The Dash is a visible, powerful reminder that every person deserves to be accepted, included, and celebrated exactly as they are. Seeing hundreds of people show up in support of individuals with Down syndrome created a beautiful atmosphere of connection, encouragement, and belonging.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, teams, sponsors, and local partners, this event was a success because we raised approximately $64,000 to support the life-changing, purposeful, and completely free programming at GiGi’s Playhouse Madison.

From families creating team shirts and fundraising for weeks, to businesses donating portions of their sales from the day, this event was fueled by community spirit at every level. Every dollar raised stays local and helps us continue to provide educational, therapeutic, career development, and social programming for individuals with Down syndrome of all ages.

One of the most inspiring parts of the Dash is seeing people from all walks of life come together with one shared purpose: acceptance for all. Whether someone was participating for a loved one, volunteering, sponsoring, or simply showing up to learn more, every person helped create an environment where our participants were seen, celebrated, and supported.

We are incredibly grateful to every team captain, donor, sponsor, volunteer, and community partner who made this event a success. Events like the Dash remind us just how strong and compassionate this community is.

As our Playhouse continues to grow and serve more families across south-central Wisconsin, support from events like the Dash allows us to dream bigger, reach farther, and continue creating opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome to thrive.
