Ben, a new volunteer, exemplifies Generation G – Be accepting. Be Generous. Be Kind.

Ben and group of his American Family interns became acquainted with GiGi’s through their participation in the American Family Share Tank Competition. As a part of this competition, American Family sends 19 groups of interns to non-profit organizations, and their mission is to volunteer their time and learn about the organization. Later, all 19 groups prepare and deliver a comprehensive presentation explaining the non-profit organization. One group is then selected as the winner and receives not only scholarship funds to aid with their college studies but also funds to aid the non-profit organization they are involved with.

Ben fit right into GiGi’s and immediately formed warm bonds many participants in both the adult and youth programs. At the end of his time at GiGi’s, Ben shared how much he loved his experiences and that he wanted to continue volunteering. We can’t wait to have him back!

On his last day, Ben presented us with a generous donation to GiGi’s. He shared that American Family had paid him for his time and for this experience. In his mind, that just didn’t feel right. Thank you Ben!
