Being a self-advocate

Our SMART program leader told the following Best-of-all moment: “One of her older participants had left the group during the opening part of the session to wash her hands. When she returned she realized that he had missed the introduction of the new volunteers. Upon her turn to greet the person next to her, she paused and then continued to introduce herself to each of the new people in attendance!! She was impressive!! Such a self-advocate!!”
