A Mother’s Perspective- Strong and Courageous

Playhouse mom, Allie, shared the following about her sweet daughter Norah on her social media and we thought everyone would be as inspired as we were by her words:

One year ago today we were told we’d likely never meet you.

One year ago today we were told all of the reasons why we should consider terminating our pregnancy.

One year ago today I felt you kicking in my belly and knew you were stong. Little did I know you’d have your dad’s easy going, goofy personality, and a tad bit of sass from your mama.

One year ago I had to find any ounce of strength I had to be strong and courageous.

I reached out to anyone and everyone that was part of the Lucky Few. I had wonderful conversations and now friendships that I will forever cherish getting me through that dark time.

Now, one year later I’ve gotten to see you be strong and be courageous. I can’t wait to watch you move mountains baby girl.

As grandparents to sweet Norah, we well know the emotional ups and downs that both Mom and Dad have endured through her pregnancy, early arrival into this world and then open heart surgery. As Allie alluded to, it has been a tremendous ride through many twists and turns, but it the end we have this incredible child in our lives that we are so very blessed to be able to hug and hold. She is definitely her own individual, even at this early age, and we are so excited to see how her personality blossoms as she gets older. We can tell it will, it is just a matter of how. She will surely benefit from all that is offered by GiGi’s Playhouse Madison and hopefully will equally give back to the GiGi’s Playhouse community as she grows to become an adult.
