This month, GiGi’s Playhouse Madison is celebrating 9 years of serving individuals with Down syndrome and their families—and what a journey it’s been!

Since opening our doors in 2016, we’ve been on a mission to change the way the world views Down syndrome and to send a global message of acceptance for all. Behind every program, volunteer shift, event, and joyful check-in is our unwavering belief that individuals with Down syndrome are worthy of opportunities to thrive, grow, and shine—exactly as they are.

Why We Do What We Do

At the heart of everything we do is our “why”: creating a world where individuals with Down syndrome feel seen, celebrated, and empowered to reach their full potential. We do this by offering free, purposeful, and progressive programs to individuals of all ages, from infancy through adulthood. These programs are more than just activities, they’re opportunities to build skills, boost confidence, and form lifelong connections.

GiGi’s is also a place for families to belong. Whether you’re celebrating a new milestone, navigating a new diagnosis, or simply looking for community, GiGi’s Playhouse is a place where there’s no need for explanations.

Our Impact—By the Numbers

In the past nine years, our Playhouse has grown into a vibrant, dynamic hub of learning, joy, and connection. The numbers tell a powerful story:

🟣 Over 44,200 volunteer hours: This equals about $1 million in donated time!

And this year alone, just five months into 2025, we’ve already seen incredible engagement:

These numbers represent so much more than attendance—they represent thousands of smiles, high fives, breakthroughs, and proud moments. They reflect the passion of our volunteers, the dedication of our families, and the strength of our community.

As we celebrate this 9-year milestone, we’re not slowing down.
