2022- A Celebration of our Year in Review

Thank You!

2022 has been an exciting year for our Playhouse community! There have been so many examples of what it means to be Generation G.

Be Accepting
Be Generous
Be Kind

Here’s a little recap of the incredible year we’ve had:

February: Kicked off our Spring programming with a full program schedule; programming is happening 6 days a week!
March: We co-hosted a screening of ‘Iron Family’ to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day in partnership with the Waisman Center and Arts for All Wisconsin
April: Hosted our inaugural Dash for Down Syndrome 5k fun run, 1 mile walk and kids dash- the weather may not have cooperated but we still had 350 people come out to walk, run and play all in the name of Acceptance! See all the pictures HERE

May: Celebrated six years of serving the Down syndrome community and partnered with Free Bikes 4 Kids Madison to distribute bikes and accessories to our families and Magnum Opus Ballet to finally perform the beautiful ballet worked on with our Playhouse participants

June: Hired Courtney Gamer, our 2nd full time employee, as our Program and Volunteer Manager
July:  Ran our first Math tutoring program since Covid thanks to Anne Ernst, our new Math Coordinator; introduced GiGiFIT physical therapy based fitness program for teens and adults and was chosen as Delta Beer Lab’s non-profit of the month

August: Hosted our second annual Go FORE It Golf Outing and sold out! See all the pictures HERE

September: Ran 12 programs and introduced GiGi’s Kitchen for teens and adults

October: Celebrated our Gala with a record number of attendees and hosted a Down Syndrome Acceptance Month kick off in partnership with Friends of San Damiano. See all the gala pictures HERE

November: Attended our GiGi’s National Conference and learned our Playhouse was awarded all seven standards of execution awards- meaning we are doing our very best to serve the Down syndrome community

December: Hosted over 50 families, over 160 people, for our Holiday party on December 10th. See all the pictures HERE

All of these incredible things could only happen because of the support we receive from every donor, sponsor, board member, staff member and volunteer that chooses to give to our Playhouse.

Please take a moment to watch our Impact Video HERE to see how your support has made a difference.
