How GiGi’s Playhouse Indianapolis Has Overcame The Pandemic
How have we continued to serve our community during the COVID-19 pandemic?
GiGi’s Playhouse Indianapolis may have closed their doors on March 12th, but we did NOT miss a beat. We quickly adjusted our format to incorporate virtual learning in order to provide consistent programming for our families. GiGi’s Playhouse Indianapolis created GiGi’s-At-Home and launched on March 17th! GiGi’s-At-Home included multiple virtual programs for all ages which allowed for us to not have to cancel one program! A HUGE door became open when we began our virtual programming back in March of 2020. Participants from other states (even other countries) began attending our programs, which allowed for us to serve a population that we thought was unreachable.
The Indianapolis team was fortunate enough to return to the playhouse on June 15th. Scheduled Open Play began on July 6th to allow families a place to safely play and explore. We welcomed our participants back on August 31st where we began our Fall Session 1 which included new hybrid programming. Even though we are back in the playhouse, the safety and health of our participants and volunteers is still our number one priority. Upon arrival, a health screening station is the first step for all that walk through our doors. Hands are sanitized, temperatures are taken and health questions are asked. Facial masks and social distancing is REQUIRED! These are the safety precautions that we are happy to take in order to continue serving our GiGi’s family!
