Volunteer of the Month: Saima Siddiqui!

Saima has been volunteering with GiGi’s for about a year and has made a great impact in a short amount of time.

She initially helped out with our events, and became a tutor in the Fall 2019 session. She taught three of our adult participants in both math and literacy.

Many of our tutors worry that lack of experience will mean tutoring a student won’t be beneficial to them, but that’s absolutely not true! Anyone with the determination to make a difference will make great strides, and we definitely saw that with Saima.

She always looks for ways to overcome challenges her students may be having and she finds out-of-the-box solutions to help them learn and retain information, as well as to get them out of their comfort zones.

Saima is always ready to greet and spend time with her students and anyone who’s in the Playhouse when she is. Her friendly and bubbly personality is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face!

Unfortunately, Saima moved out of the state at the beginning of the year, and she will be very missed, but will always be a dear friend to the Playhouse!
