Thank you, Kohls Cares!

Kohl’s Cares is a philanthropic initiative by Kohl’s Department Stores that focuses on supporting children’s health and education. Through this program, Kohl’s partners with local and national organizations to fund programs that benefit children and families in need. One of the key aspects of Kohl’s Cares is its commitment to raising funds through the sale of specially designed products, such as books and plush toys, with 100% of the net profit going toward charitable initiatives. Since they’ve started, Kohl’s Cares has raised millions to help improve the well-being of children, supporting health initiatives, educational resources, and community programs across the country.

This holiday season, they chose GiGi’s Playhouse Hoffman Estates to gift their donation to. After being accepted for this grant, we asked our families to share their Down syndrome story. We randomly selected families who submitted a story to join us at the Kohls department store in Chicago Ridge. Our families were allowed to shop through the entire store, picking out items and buying gifts for the holidays!

As a playhouse, we were also able to use any remaining funds to purchase toys and items to hand out to families at our annual holiday party and Santa visit on December 21^st. We are so grateful for this opportunity and can not put in words the joy we felt, getting to see the smiles on everyone’s faces.
