The Impact of GiGiFIT

Our GiGiFIT programs are designed to address common issues for individuals with Down syndrome including hypotonia, excessive joint laxity, and decreased balance. Every GiGiFIT program is safe, effective, and progressive. GiGiFIT helps participants build strength, endurance, power, joint stability, balance, and movement control. GiGiFIT empowers participants to be more independent and confident in their abilities while improving their overall health and wellness. Boosting self esteem and mental wellness too!

Our FREE GiGiFIT programs combine activities with a strong fitness focus and a goal of success and improved movement designed by a physical therapist. GiGiFIT was created in collaboration with skilled Physical Therapists who work specifically with individuals with Down syndrome

At our playhouse, each age group starting from 3 years old can participate in our GiGiFIT programs. Not only does it improve their health and wellbeing, but also allows our participants the safe space to socialize and connect with their peers and volunteers!

Over the next few weeks, our Thursday Adult fitness class has partnered with Elmhurt University’s OT class, to come in and lead our participants through a guided fitness routine. They have created these routines based on our training and program structure and have done such an amazing job!

See our Calendar for dates and times of our GiGiFIT programs and to sign up for a class today, you can now register for an open slot in any of the fitness programs, per age group!
