Maryanne – Volunteer Spotlight

Meet Maryanne

Our volunteer spotlight for May is Maryanne! Maryanne has been volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse Twin Cities since last summer. She first heard of GiGi’s Playhouse Twin Cities when her granddaughter was born with Down syndrome, and she wanted to find an organization to help make a difference in the Down syndrome community. Her favorite memory at GiGi’s is Ava’s Dance Party this past October. While Maryanne doesn’t volunteer during our programming, she has made a tremendous impact on GiGi’s Twin Cities. She comes in once a week to help with organization, filing, and sorting. She has organized our newly renovated Under the Sea Room, Event Storage Room and Volunteer Office. Thanks to her work our volunteers, participants, and staff can now use our space more effectively. When asked if she has any advice for people who were thinking about volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse Twin Cities she said “Every bit of help makes a difference. Even if it is just a couple of hours it can make a big impact. Thank you, Maryanne, for all our hard work volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse Twin Cities!
