Kiara – Volunteer Spotlight

Kiara

David and Kiara

Delilah and Freya

Kiara is an inspiring volunteer who has led fiercely for many years as Gala Committee Chair. She has led the way through hundreds of volunteer hours over the years to make this event possible and successful for us. Kiara’s strengths are being well-organized, enthusiastic, a clear communicator, thoughtful, and driven. These strengths have been extremely handy in her work as the Gala Committee Chair, which has led to great success every single year of this event. Kiara has a gift for being able to examine every single detail of this massive event, and then systematically problem solving while finding solutions, as well as collaborating with all the volunteer Gala Committee members, staff, and board members to create a clear vision for what the big picture will look like for each year’s Gala. This is an amazing feat to balance every single year of the Gala!!!

When reviewing 2020’s Gala results, we raised over half a million dollars which was a record for us at GiGi’s Playhouse Twin Cities, and at the same time we had record attendance. This was all due to the hard work of the entire Gala Committee through the leadership of Kiara.

& now looking ahead to 2021’s Gala on February 20th, 7pm, we have a massive pivot that has been needed for this year – a virtual Gala. Kiara is excited to see how all the pieces are coming together after many months of planning – committee members overseeing all the logistics and details, families and individuals signing up to attend, people & organizations donating and sponsoring this year’s Gala. We have a great start, but we still need your help now – please register for the Gala and consider contributing towards this year’s event. All the details can be found: HERE

We are honored to have Kiara and her phenomenal leadership for our Gala once again for 2021! Thank you Kiara for your dedication and service to our community over many years! We are also honored to have Kiara’s husband David, who has been actively involved as a volunteer GiGi’s Board member, and their three daughters, Freya, Delilah and Mabel, be part of our GiGi’s Playhouse Twin Cities community.  Thank you to your entire family!

Thank you also to the entire Gala Committee for your hard work, time, and innovation, especially this year, to make our event outstanding once again!

I am amazed to see what the mothers who had the drive and commitment to get Gigi’s started in the very beginning have accomplished. They did this while still balancing home, jobs and learning all they could about raising a child with Down syndrome. Their dedication to build a Twin Cities chapter to support children and families is to be commended. I have seen many examples of how my granddaughter has benefitted from the many programs she has participated in. As Kiara’s mother, I can’t begin to describe how proud I am of all she has accomplished working with Gigi’s.

Thank you so much Mary! We agree – we’re amazed by Kiara every single day. Kiara and all our parents should be commended.

Kiara has a way of bringing people together, and making any gathering into an event that you don’t want to miss! She is an inspiration, amazing mom, sister and partner. She deserves this recognition and will continue to be a light for those who need it. Congrats on your amazing results, and your ability to inspire and lead those around you! I’m looking forward to the virtual gala and excited to see this years gala come to life!
