Kay – Volunteer Spotlight
Kay – Board Certified Music Therapist
In-Person GiGi’s Music – St. Louis Park
Twin Cities Virtual GiGi’s Music Program – serving St. Louis Park, South Metro, Hudson and through out Minnesota and Wisconsin
We are so very lucky to have the great leadership of Kay, an experienced Board-Certified Music Therapist, serving our GiGi’s Playhouse Twin Cities community in our music programs. Music is Kay’s true passion, and you will see that reflected in every single class that she ever leads for us at GiGi’s. Kay has been involved with GiGi’s Playhouse Twin Cities for many years to lead up our GiGi’s Music programs. Outside of GiGi’s, she has also worked for twenty-four years at Frasier School in Richfield, and then in 2014 she founded a pediatric private practice called Do Re Music Therapy located in Minnetonka. She was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Music Therapy Association in Minnesota in 2016. What an honor that Kay is with us at GiGi’s to provide her treasured and valuable services to our entire community!
Kay is creative, thoughtful, and innovative in her music instruction techniques, and equally if not more impactful, is kind to every single member of our community – participants, family members, volunteers, and staff. During every single music class that Kay leads, all participants, family members, and volunteers have big smiles on their faces filled with joy while they are singing and moving along to every single part of her carefully planned lessons – that all have perfect rhythm in their beautiful pace and flow.
Before the pandemic, Kay had been leading many sessions of GiGi’s Music for various age groups in person at St. Louis Park. Since March 13th, 2020 Kay has been on board with us pivoting to virtual GiGi’s Music – which she is offering once a month to our entire Twin Cities Network (St. Louis Park, South Metro, and Hudson – while also serving our greater community throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin), geared towards ages 0-10, but all ages/families would be welcome if they are interested in attending. The next Virtual GiGi’s Music class will be on March 20th, 2021 9-9:30am. RSVP is: HERE
We are honored to have Kay be an incredible leader for us at GiGi’s Playhouse Twin Cities over many years. We look forward to the many ways we will continue to work together with Kay into the future. Thank you Kay for your service to our community!
