Jackie and Courtney Turnquist – Volunteer Spotlight

For November’s Volunteer Spotlight, we are excited to recognize Jackie and Courtney Turnquist! These incredible sisters bring warmth, enthusiasm, and positivity to every program they’re part of. Whether it’s through their work with our Drama Troupe, GiGi Kitchen Kids, Fantastic Friends On the Go, or Social Skills programs, their dedication and impact are truly inspiring. We are so grateful for all they do!

Meet Courtney and Jackie Turnquist!

How did you first get involved with GiGi’s Playhouse Twin Cities?  Courtney got involved first and loved it so much that Jackie decided to join her!

What is your favorite memory from volunteering?  We have SO many happy memories at the playhouse that it is hard to pick just one! Some of our favorites have been watching the participants dominate in the GiGi’s Olympics, summer adventures with GiGi’s On the Go (especially bowling), and of course spending time with the amazing Drama Troupe stars!

How long have you been volunteering?  We have both been volunteering with GiGi’s for a few years now and it just keeps getting better! GiGi’s is absolutely stuck with the Turnquist sisters now and we will be coming back for years to come 🙂

What would you say to anyone who is interested in volunteering?  DO IT!!  Joy and love truly radiate from the playhouse. The participants, staff, volunteers, family members and friends that create this magical place are some of the most wonderful people you will ever be lucky enough to meet.

….And such a bonus if you can bring your sister along 😊

Anything else that you would like to share?  We absolutely LOVE GiGi’s and feel so incredibly grateful to be a part of this beautiful organization – it really means more to us than we can put into words! Thank you for everything you do and for making this world a happier place for so many.
